Nemø ensemble is a group of young musicians performing experimental, contemporary music.
Often, in performances of new music there exists a distance between those who perform and those who perceive. We want to overcome that distance by bringing the audience very close to us and search together with them.
We go through the repertoire of new music from the 1980s onwards and join what we’ve found with new work of young artists: artists who make music, but also those who work with video, bodies, words…
We envision concerts/concepts as a whole, where everything is connected, but nothing is fixed.
“Everything could’ve been everything else, and it would have just this much meaning.”
(Mr. Nobody, Jaco Van Dormael)
